Farewell, Uncle Roy

You'll be missed.

What an impressive talent and visionary Roy Disney Jr. proved to be. The Disney company will certainly feel this loss, as will the fans who cherish all he did to preserve the integrity and quality of his father and uncle's groundbreaking empire. If he really was your uncle, than I give my most sincere regards to your family. He will certainly be missed.

  2. No, he wasn't my uncle ... just what we liked to call him. :-)

  3. Wouldn't that be Cousin Roy?

So is this blog dead or what?

Some of what has been posted here is from an interesting POV, some not. Like every other blog.

But at least those people post once in a while.

If this place is dead at least do your few readers left the freakin courtesy of telling them.

I have to agree with the other posters. I love visiting this blog, as I have done since its inception, but at least have the courtesy to "check in" with us once in a while, EPCOT82, to share the status of this site.

  11. Hi EPCOT82, I hope you start posting again soon.

My last visit to EPCOT was in June 2002. I'd like to go back again but I used to go with family and we're all in different places at the moment. It's not the sort of place you can go to on your own.

  15. The bitter Disney blogs have a long delay between posts. You gotta let that bitterness ferment long enough to develop into a good post ;)

    Bitterness ages like fine wine.

    Epcot82-

Epcot82. Please wake up and talk about your opinions on Italy's newly created Neapolitan ristorante, Via Napoli. It introduces the architecture of Florence to the Italy Pavilion, an actual backdrop to fill the pavilion out, the water for making dough is imported from a well in Pennsylvania so it has identical content levels to that in Naples, it has beautiful vaulted ceilings, frescos, imported blown-glass and ceramics from Italy, mythology tie-ins, and new authentic costumes(Remember when there was that possible costume-elimination scare?!) You wanted an Italy expansion desperately. (We all did!) It's not an attraction but it's a brand new architectural and culinary experience. The place is beautiful. Please tell your fans what you think! We want to know! -Mike H

  20. Another fine and relevant attraction added to Epcot: Duffy the Bear!

@Blog: Duffy the Bear isn't a bad idea. It gives kids something to do in world showcase without killing attractions with character franchises. Duffy is a sailor character and children can purchase all sorts of cultural costumes for their bears in each of the pavilions. It doesn't spoil anything like gran fiesta and the princess-ravaged akershus did. -Mike H

Maybe the blogger was Roy Disney himself?

  27. Maybe if we all keep posting comments he will come back!

Let's see if we can get this sucker up to 1,000!

1/3/12 - a while back, he seemed reinvigorated... perhaps he needs another challenge. So, here goes: I just got back from WDW, the Imagination pavilion is horrible! The yet-again-revamped ride with figment? Brutal! It's bad when the best thing about an attraction is a 25-year-old movie featuring a jerry-curled MJ!
